FilterPure
is a U.S. non–profit 501(c)3 organization focused on solving
the problem of contaminated drinking water world-wide. FilterPure
works in developing countries to facilitate production of a ceramic
water filter that eliminates turbidity and micro bacteria at a
rate of 99.9%. The filters are produced to be affordable and accessible
to those who have little resources and are at high risk of exposure
to contaminated water. FilterPure is committed to enabling sustainable
enterprise, providing a quality product and service, and educating
people about sanitation, hygiene and life styles – while
always maintaining respect for the culture and the individual.
"Filter
Pure has a simple and sustainable solution to provide clean and safe
drinking water to people with the greatest need. The
ceramic water filter has proven to be a simple, yet effective, way to
treat contaminated water at the household level in developing
countries. FilterPure is producing a third world application of
high quality water filters, and it is doing so in a way that is
adaptable and sustainable for countries with limited or no
infrastructure. I have worked along side FilterPure and have
seen their commitment to the implementation of sustainable ceramic
water filter projects world-wide; reducing poverty by providing
employment opportunities; improving human survival and well-being;
and, educating the population on health, sanitation, and life style
issues. If we are serious about reducing the proportion of
people without sustainable access to safe drinking water, we should
get behind projects like this one and make a change in the world
now."
